Twitter has announced two much awaited features today. The new features include Local Trends for India and Google Translate for translating tweets.Local Trends which display trending topics in twitter which was available for some countries only has been extended for 13 new countries including India. The 13 new countries and cities include Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Turkey, Venezuela. Cities: Detroit, Miami, Minneapolis, Rio De Janeiro, Sydney, Toronto.
Twitter also has launched a Google Translate tool to display Tweet translations for local languages. However this feature is currently available to a very small percentage of users and will be rolling out to everyone over the coming weeks.
